Roundies-Out And About.

Hi friends!

There has been so many fun, supportive and exciting responses

to these daily embroideries since our little show back in March.

So much so,

that I have decided to put them out into the world!

The kids have been making neat things for our local farmers market.

Such fun!

I got out my paints and lots of hoops and painted them fun colors.

Then sold right alongside them.

I have been giving them away too.

That really is my favorite way to get them out and about.

I will update each embroidery posted here on the blog

with the date it left my arms and hopefully where it ended up.

Could be fun to see how far reaching these little stitches can get.

Thanks so much to those who spent cold hard cash on my little hoops.

Means a lot. :)

A Round A Day, One Year Later.

Hello! Almost one full year later!

A bit ago, after eight long months of being shelved,

these guys got to see the light of day and breath.

I sorted them with Minna.

Hooped and stitched them onto fabric and into garlands.

Then packed up all 365 roundies

along with the rest of the last two years of my embroidery life.

Then brought them to town to show them to people in real life.

Seeing them all together, framed, hooped and in people's hands

was more than I ever thought would happen with this little project of mine.

Friends and strangers came to see and share their own embroidery stories.

It was awesome, and fun and made me so happy to live where I live.

Myself and this table made page 1 of the paper.

Jeff's arm and dead rabbit are on page 3.

The poor bunny is part of my new embroidery project.

Stitching from my photographs.

I am enjoying it so much.

No deadlines. No pressure.

Just me and a needle.

the post project post.

My whim-of-a-365 has been realized!

I am so glad I finished. So glad it is done.

Saturday, was the first evening in a whole year that I didn't think/panic over a roundy. That's a long time to worry about roundies! I didn't realize I was stressed about it until I didn't have to do one anymore!

I really did enjoy the routine for the first 6 months straight. I stitched, photographed and posted on time too. Then I was able to stitch each evening with doubling up on some nights, but the photographing became hard to get in. I am so glad I kept at it, stitching when I could. Picture taking when I could, even when the results were uninspired. The sense of completion is very inspiring for me now. I have the ideas and the room in my brain for some exciting projects.

These new whims won't have deadlines.

The next step will be to go through these stacks and pick out favorites and least favorites. Then do the same with the 1790 pictures I have of the project from start to finish. Looking over the pictures in order is like looking through a journal. A journal written in thread.

The final leg of A-Round-A-Day will be to put these lil' stitches to good use of course. A few quilts will probably do the trick. I am open and I am not in a rush.
